While providing synchronization via the server, FontAgent Pro ensures that a server failure will not halt production. By permitting the user to have a local copy of the fonts that have been distributed, FontAgent Pro keeps ticking while other solutions are taking a licking by holding up production, resulting in lost revenue and missed deadlines while repairs are made.



FontAgent Pro Server provides a "smart" synchronization module that ties connected FontAgent Pro clients together.
  • Users and groups can be set-up on the server computer.

  • Libraries and sets can be assigned to different users and groups.

  • Synchronization with the server can be performed manually or set up on the client to be done automatically at specified intervals.

  • The server software does not have to be on a server. It can be on a server or on any Mac running OS 10.3.x or higher.

  • Separate FontAgent Pro servers could be set-up (if needed) to serve different groups on the same network.

Preferences
  • FontAgent Pro Server uses the industry's most mature font integrity checking, which is embedded in the FontAgent Pro client. This ensures that your fonts are in good shape before you start working with them.
  • Fonts moved to the server must be uploaded through the client to ensure that all the proper integrity checking has been done.
  • The FontAgent Pro Server will download the font libraries and then query the client to make sure that the needed fonts are there prior to downloading a Set. If the fonts are not all there for the set, you will be notified of the Library you need in order to have that set added to the client.

 

 

FontAgent Pro Server provides an audit trail that alerts users if they need to make adjustments.

The connected client has a feature to show you the updated history for the synchronized user. This means that if the client's libraries and sets and if they are ever inadvertently modified or damaged the user can simply delete the libraries and sets then download all available libraries and sets from the server again.

 

The updates window showing the available libraries and sets for the user to download has check boxes in front of each selection -- allowing the user to choose which libraries and sets are added to the client.


FontAgent Pro Server is fast.

Uploading or downloading fonts from a connected client is as fast as the network allows.

 

Downloading new libraries does not require a second integrity check by the client since that work was done by the client when the fonts were uploaded to the server. The result is that the new font libraries are downloaded and inserted faster than if they were imported into FontAgent Pro -- allowing for network speed issues of course.
